Labelling guide

Free supplement label text generator

Enter your formulation and Rocky drafts the mandatory label text for a GB food supplement, checks the ingredients, lists the claims you could make and lays it out as a label preview you can download. Free with a ProofMyLabel account.

What you enter

The product name, format (capsules, tablets, powder, gummies or liquid), the daily dose, the pack size, and each ingredient with its amount per daily dose. For vitamins and minerals, add what each one provides, for example "magnesium citrate 500 mg, providing magnesium 75 mg".

What you get

  • Ingredient checks: vitamin and mineral forms against the GB permitted list, amounts against the UK's advisory safe upper levels, possible novel foods, herbal ingredients that could make it a medicine, allergens and recent EU safety alerts for your ingredients.
  • Compliant alternatives: if something fails, Rocky suggests a lawful option, such as a permitted form of the same nutrient or a dose within the safe level.
  • Claims you could use, clearly labelled: authorised health claims your doses qualify for, with register entries; nutrition claims such as "high in zinc"; and, where relevant, on-hold botanical and appearance-only wording, with the risks explained.
  • The mandatory text: name of the food, nutrient table with %NRV, ingredients in descending order with allergens in bold, directions, required statements and warnings, storage and net quantity.
  • A label preview at your label size, with text kept at or above the legal minimum x-height, to download as a PDF or PNG for your designer.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Drafting label text is free for signed-in users, up to 10 drafts a day. You only pay to check finished artwork.

Can I print the draft as it is?

No. It's text for your designer. Once the artwork is ready, run a packaging check: it checks the finished design, including text size, layout and anything added since.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's an automated draft from official sources. The business selling the product stays responsible for its labelling.
