Selling supplements on TikTok Shop UK: what you need

TikTok Shop can sell a lot of supplements fast, but it's an approval-first category, and every creator video is advertising under UK rules. Get both right before you launch.

Approval comes first

  • TikTok Shop UK treats food and drink, including food supplements, as an invite-only category. You need TikTok's approval before you can list.
  • You need a UK-registered business, operating from the UK. Cross-border sellers generally can't list food products.
  • Approval is per category, and sometimes per product, so expect to submit documents for each supplement.

Documents to have ready

  • Proof of your food business registration with your local authority.
  • Your HACCP plan, or your manufacturer's food safety certification.
  • Clear photos of the label on every side, matching the product exactly.
  • Invoices or manufacturer documents that match the product and the listing.
  • Certificates of analysis or test reports if asked. Our free C of A explainer helps you check them first.
  • Genuine GS1 barcodes. See GS1 barcodes.

Most rejections come from missing, unclear or mismatched documents. TikTok updates its requirements often, so check the category qualification page in Seller Center before you apply.

Creator videos are adverts

  • Affiliate and creator videos, live streams and product cards are marketing communications, so the GB health claims rules apply in full. A creator saying “this fixed my anxiety” is a medicinal claim made for your product.
  • Paid or affiliate content must be clearly labelled as advertising. The ASA holds brands and creators jointly responsible.
  • Give creators a short brief with the authorised claims they can use, and the words to avoid: “cures”, “treats”, “prevents”, condition names, and strengthened versions of claims.
  • TikTok also has its own rules, which are stricter for weight-management products and for anything aimed at under-18s.

Make the listing match the pack

Title, description, images and the label must all agree: name, amounts, daily dose and warnings. Read website claims vs packaging and use the health claim finder to brief creators with the exact wording.

Get the label right first

TikTok reviews your label photos, and so do customers in every video. Check the artwork before you print, so the label you submit is one you won't have to change.
