Safe upper levels checker for vitamins and minerals
The UK's Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals (EVM) set safe upper levels, or guidance levels, for daily intake from supplements. Enter your amounts per daily dose to see how they compare.
| Nutrient | Per daily dose | Level |

SUL = safe upper level. GL = guidance level, set where the evidence wasn't strong enough for a SUL. Levels are for adults and for intake from supplements unless the note says otherwise.
What the levels mean
- The levels are advice, not legal limits, but enforcement officers and retailers use them, and products above them need a good reason and careful labelling.
- Some amounts also trigger advisory statements on the label, for example for vitamin B6 or magnesium. Our full check tells you which ones to add.
- Where a level is for total intake from food and supplements, the room left for a supplement is smaller.
